1. Considering the development opportunities available to you this year, how have you applied what you learned?
I have developed my typing skills by typing faster with fewer mistakes. Last year I learned most of the stuff that I do in all my classes. So it’s easy to me when I do something, but they don’t give us a lot of time, that’s why I sometimes don’t do it. So I've been doing better in my work skills on all my classes this year. But I’ll do a better job next year than I did last year.
2. What strengths do you possess that you can use at a higher level next year?
Some strength that I could use at a higher level next year is all the programs of Microsoft Office, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Excel. I could use all these programs at a higher level by learning and using them more. Also I could use all my computer skills that I’ve learned this year, in this class. I would use all the other subjects too, for next year. I could also use how we dressed professionally, for a job interview next year.
3. What obstacles must you work through so you can meet all your goals for this year?
One goal I have for this year that I have is to pass all my classes and get all my credits. An obstacle that I have to work through for this is doing all my projects for each class. And then present them in front of all my classes. Another obstacle is to pass all my TAKS. But I can’t do nothing else now, just wait to see if I passed, but I think I did.
4. Discuss what you have learned during the class and how it will assist you in achieving further academic and work related goals.
I’ve learned how to a webpage, and how to dress professionally. Also how to use all the Microsoft Office programs. Dressing professionally is going to help me by getting the jobs that I might want. All of the Microsoft Office programs are going to help me by making all my projects that I’ll get in school and the job that I’ll get easier. Stuff that I learned about computers is going to help me if I get a job where I’ll use the computer all the time.
5. If you could do any assignment over this year, which one would it be and why? Any regrets?
If I could do any assignment over this year, it would be the one I failed or didn’t do. Because if I do it again, I could do it way better and get a higher grade. But I don’t remember which one it was, or what it was about. But that would be the one so I can have a second chance to work on it. I regret not working or starting on it, I could have got a higher grade that the one I got now.
6. What are 3 words you would use to describe this class?
Confusing, Useful for any job in the future, and Hard.
7. How did your computer skills grow or improve over the course of the year?
My computer skills improved or grew more by typing a little faster. And learning more about new programs or software that I didn’t know how to use them or that they existed. Also I learned how to make my own webpage and use all the Microsoft Office programs. I also learned how to dress when I go to a job interview. They also improved by knowing what really is a virus and the background of all the computers history.
8. What were your greatest challenges or lessons learned?
My greatest challenges were working on all the projects and then getting up in front of the class to present it. Some lessons that I learned were that I need to graduate high school in order to have a better future. Other challenges were staying in this school, and getting all my work done, it’s been too much work. Another lesson that I learned was to ignore what some teachers told me. Also that I need to do all my projects to pass all my classes, this is both a challenge and a lesson that I’ve learned.
